Accuses Kwankwassiyya Movement

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has rejected claims circulating on social media suggesting that he is running for the presidency in 2027 with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as his vice-presidential candidate.

Recall that posters of Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma, seeking a joint presidential ticket for 2027, reportedly surfaced on social media at the weekend. The posters indicated that Ganduje, who is the current National Chairman of the ruling APC, would contest for president, while Uzodinma, who is the current Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), would be his running mate.

The posters, which reportedly have the slogan: ‘For Nigerians, prosperity and human capital development’ also indicated that the two political gladiators would contest the 2027 election on the platform of the APC.

However, in a statement issued yesterday, the APC National Chairman’s Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, denounced the posters as false and malicious, attributing them to mischief-makers.

The statement said the individuals behind the posters might be associated with elements within the Kwankwassiyya movement, aiming to sow discord between Ganduje and President Bola Tinubu.
